Because I recently just did my Fabulous Confabulation with my guidance counselor, Mrs. Stout, I am giving you legit websites that you can apply for scholarships on! (If you haven’t seen it yet, please go watch it September: My Fabulous Confabulation with Ms. Stout).  Apply to all that you are eligible for; you never know what you might get!!

Scholarships are not just limited to the websites listed below. Research for more because there are scholarships for ANYTHING! 😁

1. The Prudential Spirit of Community Award – OPEN TO ALL GRADE LEVELS. If you have engaged in volunteer activity at least during the previous 12 months, you should apply. Generally, the winners have established the activity or donated an unusually large amount of time and effort to existing volunteer activities. $5000 award – Access your application instruction sheet at https://spirit.prudential.com/awards/how-to-apply Deadline 11/03/2017


2. Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership- SOPHOMORES! HOBY’s Leadership Conference mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. HOBY programs provide youth selected by their schools to participate in unique leadership training, service-learning and motivation-building experiences. If interested visit http://www.hoby.org/programs/leadership-seminars/school-info to learn about HOBY. OCVTS will send two student representatives to this program at no charge. If interested in applying, pick up your application in the office. Deadline 10/20/17.


3. a. Elks National Foundation(ENF)- Most Valuable Student (MVS) contest is open to all high school seniors who are US Citizens, whether or not related to an Elk. Application available on line at www.elks.org/enf/scholars/mvs.cfm Students should submit a hard copy of the application to the local Elks Lodge closest to their residence. Deadline 11/27/17

b. Elks Legacy Award – this contest is open to senior students who are children or grandchildren of an Elk member. This may be any Elks Lodge in the country. Application is available at http://www.elks.org/enf/Scholars/legacy.cfm Legacy applications must be completed online and submitted online. Deadline 2/02/18 by noon.

4. National Young Arts Foundation- GRADE 10 – 12. Up to a $10,000 award, access to scholarships, career opportunities and professional contacts. Applications accepted in cinematic arts, classical music, dance, design arts, jazz, photography, theater, visual arts, voice and writing.

5. Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship – Open to all seniors who participate in a sport at their home school. Visit the site to see list of criteria. DEADLINE: October 2, 2017 http://www.wendyshighschoolheisman.com/about/whos-eligible/  


6. Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation – A national scholarship for seniors who will be attending a US post-secondary institution and has a GPA of 3.0. DEADLINE: October 31, 2017. http://www.cocacolascholarsfoundation.org/applicants/#.VAnJBfldV8E


7. AXA Achievement Scholarships – seniors AXA Achievement has awarded over $25 million to more than 6,000 students, making AXA one of the nation’s largest corporate providers of scholarships. 8.  New Jersey Shout Down Drugs Competition – OPEN TO ALL GRADE LEVELS 12th Annual competition, challenges NJ high school student to create original music and lyrics with powerful substance abuse prevention messages. Visit http://www.shoutdowndrugs.com/about/ for details. Deadline 02/1/18.


9. Volunteer Internship with Congressman Chris Smith – Seniors Office location in New Egypt, need to commit minimum of 8 hours per week, must have genuine desire to help people and be dedicated students, well spoken, proficient in word processing applications and interested in the world happenings. 10. 2017 Congressional App Challenge – OPEN TO ALL GRADE LEVELS. Representative Chris Smith is hosting the App Challenge for the 4th district of New Jersey. Visit http://www.congressionalappchallenge.us/ for details and to submit. Deadline October 31, 2017.


11. Congressman Chris Smith is currently accepting applications for Service Academy Nominations – to receive an application, call Congressman Smith’s Freehold Constituent Service Center at 732-780-3035. Deadline October 16, 2017.


12. Horatio Alger Association – If integrity, determination and courage describe you – you have what it takes to be a Horatio Alger Scholar. Visit https://scholars.horatioalger.org/scholarships/ Deadline October 25, 2017.
